Daughters on the Diamond welcomes girls ages 6–16 from across Western New York. Beginners and experienced players are welcome. League age is determined by the player’s age on January 1 of the applicable year.

She is welcome. The program is built around development and age-appropriate instruction, so first-time players can learn fundamentals in an encouraging environment.

There are no team assignments this fall. Fall 2026 is a ten clinic program, with players working in skill groups alongside the coaches and scrimmaging against the other groups. Divisions and team placement come with future seasons.

A parent may request an evaluation to play up. Approval should consider skill, physical readiness, safety, and the player’s long-term development—not age alone.

Fall 2026 runs Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the softball fields in Sheridan Park, off Two Mile Creek Rd in Tonawanda. Ten clinics in all, starting Monday, September 7 and finishing Tuesday, October 6. Every session is a clinic, and anything lost to weather is made up the following Sunday.

Travel is not expected to be required for the base program. Optional travel opportunities may be offered to families who want additional competition.

The call is made jointly by the administration, and we let every family know by email as early as we can. A cancelled clinic is made up the following Sunday, so you still get all ten.

Registration is $100 for the full ten clinics, which is $10 per session, and covers a team jersey and time with the coaches. There is no deadline. Registration stays open all season and the price is prorated, so a player joining after two sessions have passed pays $80.

Players bring their own glove, face mask, bat, and helmet. The team jersey is included with registration. If equipment is a barrier for your family, email jon@ddsoftball.com. Loaner and donated gear is available.

Yes. There are no team assignments this fall, so friends and siblings attend the same clinics.

Every registered player takes part in every clinic she attends. A minimum playing time policy will follow when team based league play begins.

Parents are expected to provide transportation, communicate, support attendance, and participate positively in the team community. A rotating practice-parent or volunteer presence is being considered.

Every coach clears a criminal background check through Checkmate and is trained in CPR, First Aid, and AED use. Coaches also complete our own training before they work with players.

Every coach is trained in CPR, First Aid, and AED use. Every family completes a medical release and emergency contacts in the participation packet before their player takes the field. We follow New York State heat-index guidance and maintain a code of conduct. Written policies covering concussion, lightning, injury response, and field conditions are being finalized.
